First of all, if possible, all the family members should be present at the place of worship. After retiring from daily activities in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, go to the house of worship, put a bandanwar of betel leaves at the door of your house early in the morning, and establish the Kalash. Resolve with the mantra ‘Mum Sarvakarmasiddhaye Siddhivinayakpujanmah Karishye’, after that make a ‘Swastika’ by laying the red or yellow cloth on the post of worship and installing the idol or picture of Lord Ganapati.

Then offer them flowers, Akshat, sandalwood, incense etc. After this offer 21 durva to Vighnaharta Ganesha. Keep in mind that they have 10 names (Ganadip, Umaputra, Aghnashak, Vinayaka, Ishputra, Sarvasiddhiprada, Ekadanta, Ibhavaktra, Mooshkavahana and Kumarguru.) Offer two durva to them remembering each name.

After this, offer the last remaining durva to Varadganesh, after offering the last durva to Varadganesh, complete the worship with incense, lamp. At last, offer 21 modaks made in ghee to Ganesha, after that perform aarti and kirtan, Salute Ganapati while chanting Om Ganeshaya Namah.
