Shri SatyaNarayan Katha Pooja –

Satyanarayan Vrat, also known as Satyanarayan Puja, is a Hindu religious ritual that involves the worship of Lord Vishnu, who is considered to be one of the principal deities in Hinduism. The vrat, which is a vow or commitment to God, involves the recitation of the Satyanarayan Katha, a story that narrates the glory of Lord Vishnu, and the offering of puja, which includes the lighting of lamps and the offering of flowers, food, and other items to the deity. The vrat is typically performed by individuals who seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu, particularly for the fulfillment of specific wishes or for the attainment of spiritual growth. The vrat is typically performed at home or at a temple, and is usually led by a priest or other religious leader. Satyanarayan Vrat is widely observed in India and is an important part of Hindu culture.

General Description

The story of Lord Satyanarayan is prevalent in the world. The most revered Vrat Katha among Hindus is the Satyanarayan Vrat Katha of Lord Vishnu as the true form, worshiping the truth as Narayan (Vishnu) is the worship of Satyanarayan. The second meaning of this is that Narayan is the only truth in the world. Everything else is Maya, The Lord is worshiped in many forms, among them his Satyanarayan form is described in this story. In its original text, about 170 verses are available in the Sanskrit language with translation, which is divided into five chapters, some people organize this story on the fulfillment of wishes, some others regularly. There are two parts of Satyanarayan Vrat Katha, Vrat-Puja and Katha. The Satyanarayan Vratakatha has been compiled from the Revakhand of Skanda Purana.

In the first chapter of the Satyanarayan Vrat Katha book, it has been told how to worship Lord Satyanarayan, the person who takes a vow to worship Satyanarayan should observe a fast throughout the day. Sanctify the place of worship with cow dung and make an alpana there and place a post of worship on it.

Plant a banana tree near the four feet of this post. Install the statue of Shaligram or Thakur ji or Shri Satyanarayan on this post. While worshiping, first of all, worship Ganapati, then Indradi Dashadikpal, and respectively Panch Lokpal, Rama along with Sita, Lakshmana, and Radha Krishna. After worshiping them, worship Thakur ji and Satyanarayan. After this worship Lakshmi Mata and finally Mahadev and Brahma ji.

After worship, perform aarti of all the deities and distribute prasad by taking Charanamrit. Give Dakshina and clothes to the priest and feed him. After Purohit ji’s meal, take his blessings and eat yourself.
